Class Descriptions
Accountability Partners
(Full Year) Students will explore avenues
of serving and assisting their peers (Peer Tutoring)
Art
Students will be actively engaged in learning various art
styles and artists while producing two and three-dimensional
projects using different platforms.
Band
(Full Year) This course is a performance-oriented class.
Students will perform on instruments, alone and with others,
a varied repertoire of music.
Computer
Students will explore and create written and multi-media
projects using Hyper Studio, Internet Applications, Digital Imaging,
and Word Processing.

Drama
The activities in this class are designed for learning
and demonstrating basic acting techniques and script memorization.
It includes the fundamentals of theatre production such as scenery
construction, costuming, and make-up.
Media Production
Students learn to edit video taped productions
and prepare for the Windy Ridge morning program (limited number)
Physical Education
Students will be given the opportunity to
increase their skills in a variety of athletic opportunities.
S.A.V.E.
(Full Year) Students will be trained in peer mediation
to help other students resolve conflicts. STudents will also
be involved in several campaigns to promote nonviolence, anti-bullying
and a substance free lifestyle.
Science Lab
Students will be engaged in meaningful hands-on
science experiments.
Success Maker
Computer based reading and math tutorial program.

Spanish
(FULL YEAR) Students will have the opportunity to learn
beginning level Spanish skills while being immersed in the Spanish
culture.
Student Assistant
Students gain the opportunity to assist with
administrative and general office duties. Students may be assigned
to elementary classes to assist teachers or mentor students.
Study Hall
Students will learn strategies to improve organization
and test taking skill.
Yearbook
(Full Year) Students will capture memories to be placed
in the 205-2006 Windy Ridge Year Book.
